Foreign students
Located in the heart of the city of Modena in an historical building, at a stone’s throw from Piazza Grande and the University Faculties, Collegio San Carlo was born at the beginning of the 17th century as a Collegium Nobilium.
Today it is reserved to students from the seats of learning of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Fondazione Collegio San Carlo di Modena is a member of the Conference of University Halls of Merit (CCUM) recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR). As part of its founding objectives, the Hall seeks to provide young people with a comprehensive education and offers an excellent learning environment to University students living away from home.
The Collegio provides lodgings in a single or double room with laundry service, an internal self-service restaurant, study rooms, a computer laboratory and leisure areas.
The Collegio has provided, for the 2023/2024 academic year, for the reservation of some places for students of non-Italian nationality benefiting from international mobility scholarships for the period from September 2023 to February 2024.
The monthly fee will be of € 1.000,00 and will include:
Lodging in a single or double bedroom
Upon admission, the student has the right to lodging in a single or double room.
Restaurant service
The internal restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, excluding public holidays and vacation periods, with a wide range of dishes.
Laundry service
The laundry service provides for the weekly change of the linen used in the room, as well as the laundering and ironing of the student’s personal linen.
Learning plan
Students are requested to participate in the learning activities agreed with the Hall Management.
Students may utilize the study rooms, the computer and printing room and the interior recreation areas reserved exclusively for them and consisting of: two TV rooms, each with video recorder, a room with gymnastic equipment and other spaces for conversation and socializing.
Students possessing the following requisites may apply:
students who do not have Italian citizenship;
students awarded an international mobility scholarship by a Government or Community University or Institute;
students not suffering from any illness incompatible with community life;
students free of penal sentences or procedures.
Application for admission must be sent to the Director of the Collegio using the appropriate form.
Selection of students will take place by appointment and will consist of an interview aimed at assessing the student’s cultural background and personal maturity.
